Meet Christina…

Christina, an operations manager, at a freight company, helping book and execute moves of thousands of trucks every year.

The Problem

She has over 500 new emails to be answered today, plus at least 40 voicemails. Why so much? Because for every truck load Christina books and executes, she has to send 10-15 emails, make 4-5 phone calls, and log into multiple systems, create entries, download and upload documents. Christina is busy.

Trucks run 24/7 and so this work never stops. This consumes Christina entire day, and sometimes her night, and gives her little time to focus on what matters: delivering exceptional service, building relationships with business partners, negotiating better rates, and most importantly, coming up with creative routing solutions for his customers.

Christina is not alone.

There are frontline operators in over 200,000 shippers, 900,000 trucking companies and 20,000 trucking brokerages in America dealing every day with barrages of emails, phone calls, and data entry across a hot mess of fragmented software systems.

This 24x7 orchestration of trucks is what makes American run. It is essential. But it is largely unseen. It is gritty. It is tedious. And it can be all-consuming for these human operators. Yet outdated, piecemeal systems are bogging down the key players (the humans) in this essential industry.

That is, until now.

Introducing Augie

Meet Augie, the first AI teammate for Christina. Think of Augie as a remote virtual teammate— working 24x7 with only one goal - to do all the tedious work so Christina can focus on what matters.

What exactly does Augie do? Augie can read/write documents, respond to emails, make calls and receive calls, log into systems, do data entry and document uploads. Christina can assign the heavy load of tedious work to Augie, leaving Christina in the drivers seat on the important stuff.

To work with Augie, Christina does not have to learn any new systems or open new tabs. Christina can just message Augie on Slack, Teams, email, text…even voice calls. Needless to say, Christina likes Augie.

Augie is purpose-built for Christina’s world, logistics, and trucking in particular. So Augie has a deep understanding of the industry’s rules of the road. For instance it knows how to collect delivery documents, how to track and trace a truck, how to post a truck load on public board, how to take calls from shippers, carriers and brokers, how to set up a new load, how to ask brokerages for quotes, what is a bill of lading, how to validate if a trucking company meets the requirements…and so on.

But every company is different, and Augie learns to do things the way Christina wants, and quickly. Augie can immediately learn procedures, performance metrics and tribal knowledge across shippers, brokers and carriers in the trucking ecosystem.

For things it does not know how to do out of box, Christina can just write a few simple steps (aka standard operating procedure) and Augie follows the instructions to a tee and remembers the new info for next time. That’s one more reminder, sticky note, or load note off Christina’s desk.

When Augie is stuck or needs help with a decision, it simply asks for help. It brings Christina data and knowledge but relies on Christina experience to make decisions.
